COVID-19 Mitigation Plan & Information

The health and safety of our students and staff are of the utmost importance.  In partnership with all ALP stakeholders, and in order to help maintain the safety of our students, we ask that parents/guardians complete the following COVID-19 Health Assessment on a daily basis to determine whether or not to send your child to school.  Our complete COVID-19 Mitigation Plan can be found here.

1. Does your child currently have a fever (temperature above 100.4º) or had a fever in the last 24 hours?

2. Does your child have:

  • A new cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Headache
  • Body Aches
  • Loss of sense of taste or smell
  • Chills
  • Sore throat
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Congestion or runny nose

3. Is anyone in your home currently being isolated for COVID-19 due to a positive test or COVID-19 symptoms?

4. Have you been in close contact (closer than 6 feet for more than 10 minutes) with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or has symptoms compatible with COVID-19 in the last two days? Is your student awaiting the results of a COVID test?

Before attending school during this time please remember to:

  • Complete the daily student health assessment above.  If your response is “YES” to any of the above questions, please do not send your child to school.
  • Stay home when sick
  • Wearing a face covering is optional but strongly encouraged for students
  • Maintain physical distancing whenever possible
  • Wash hands regularly, and use hand sanitizer
  • ALL visitors to our campus must wear masks indoors.

The following enhanced procedures and protocols are in place to promote the health and wellbeing of our students and staff:

  • Student Awareness: Age-appropriate education on good hygiene practices to students will be taught in class and signage displayed throughout the school.
  • Staff Awareness: Training about infection control strategies and preventative measures.
  • Staff Health Screening: Staff will be required to screen themselves for symptoms and contacts on a daily basis and monitor their responses.

If your student tests positive for COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status:

  • Isolate for 5 days.

  • Once asymptomatic or as symptoms are resolving (without fever for 24 hours), wear a mask when around others to minimize the risk of spread for 5 additional days.

If a student is close contact and remains asymptomatic with current vaccination or a positive COVID-19 case within the last 90 days:

  • May continue to attend school.

  • Wearing a mask is recommended for 10 days.

  • COVID-19 test recommended after 5 days.

If a student is a close contact and remains asymptomatic without current vaccination or a positive COVID-19 case within the last 90 days:

  • Quarantine for 5 days. May return to school after quarantine, wearing a mask for the next 5 days.

  • COVID-19 test recommended after 5 days.

If a student is a close contact and is symptomatic:

  • It’s imperative that students stay home if they are exhibiting any COVID-like symptoms.

  • COVID-19 test recommended.

  • Once asymptomatic or as symptoms are resolving (without fever for 24 hours), wear a mask when around others to minimize the risk of spread for 5 additional days.

During quarantine, if your child develops symptoms of COVID-19 or tests positive, please ensure they isolate immediately and notify the school right away.  If your child has not yet been tested, we recommend they do so right away. When you notify us, we can take additional steps to keep our school community safe.  We may need to identify potential close contacts your student has had with others in order to prevent any additional spread of the virus.
